Oak cabinets have open grain that shows through paint. If you want them smooth, we grain-fill first. If you like the texture, we skip that step and it costs less.

We use a hard-curing cabinet enamel over a bonding primer. It needs a few weeks to fully harden, so go easy on it at first.
